Project Manager – Fiber Infrastructure

Please note: This is a Position based outside Dublin, it requires an ongoing combination of aerial and UG networks.

About the Role:

Coordinate all functions of  Fiber To The Premise (FTTP) Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU) market deployments. Responsible for overall project timelines, reporting, and coordination for site acquisition, fiber construction, network installation, and other associated functions required to successfully launch a fiber-to-the-premises. A successful candidate will possess the ability to engage in high-level conversations with a variety of stake holders from development executives, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. Candidate must have experience managing MDU projects and negotiating Right of Entry and other necessary agreements specific to MDU deployment. Individual must have strong organizational and communication skills necessary to identify project dependencies and complete deliverables throughout fiber construction lifecycle.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manages multiple groups internally and externally, directing the activity and ensuring the quality output of all functions.
• Responsible to analyze overall engineering and construction budgets for assigned projects.
• Provide overall dashboard visibility into the status of key milestones and other tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Clearly communicate with customers and internal departments to assure all involved are aware of current status and next step of all assigned projects.
• Provide accurate reports for performance, productivity, and general project tracking and update management and customers as directed. Maintain Salesforce database accordingly.
• The Project Manager is responsible to fully comply with company and departmental policies and processes.

Qualifications:

• Vocational Training and/or two-year technical college or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
• Previous outside plant fiber experience preferred.
• Strong project management experience required
• Knowledge of fiber-optic construction a plus
• Attention to detail and extremely organized are keys
• Skill in operating personal computer and various software packages.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Ability to communicate with upper management, employees and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inferences, ratios, proportions, percentages, and fractions to practical situations.
• Ability to effectively function as a team player.
• Perform duties independently by exercising discretion and sound judgment.

ISO 45001:2018

It will be your responsibility to ensure the implementation of ISO 45001:2018 Health and Safety Management System within your area of responsibility.  This will include: –

• Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement.
• Promotion of Occupational Health and Safety responsible work practices
• Take cognizance of, react to and comply with policies and procedures developed in terms of the Safety systems.
• Ensure compliance to legal and other requirements with regard to Occupational Health and Safety Management.
• Ensure that planned or proposed activities are subject to the requirements of ISO 45001:2018
• Participate in Safety and health training offered by GCT fibre
• Hazard identification and reporting; report any defects in the work place, equipment which might endanger health and safety.

As a Worker of GCT fibre you have the right to:

• Remove yourself from work situations that you consider present an imminent and serious danger to your life or health, as well be aware of arrangements for protecting you from undue consequences for doing so.

• To be consulted on the following issues: establishing the OH&S Policy; assigning organizational roles, responsibilities and authorities, as applicable; determining how to fulfill legal requirements and other requirements; establishing OH&S objectives and planning to achieve them; determining applicable controls for outsourcing, procurement and suppliers; determining what needs to be monitored, measured, and evaluated; planning, establishing, implementation and maintaining and audit program; ensuring continual improvement of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

• Participation in the following activities: determining the mechanisms for worker consultation and participation; identifying hazards and assessing risks and opportunities;  determining action to eliminate hazards and reduce OH&S risks; determining competence requirements, training needs, training and evaluating training; determining what needs to be communicated and how this will be done; determining control measures and their effective implementation and use; investigating incidents and nonconformities and determining corrective actions.

Without limiting the general nature of your duties set out above you are required to: –

• Take all steps to ensure that all persons under your charge are fully conversant with the provisions of the LABOUR ACT 2003 and all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Laws as amended or replaced from time to time, and to enforce the provisions of the LABOUR ACT 2003.
• Observe and enforce any codes of practice; any instructions, procedures, directive, permissions, exemptions etc. issued by the SPA or any other person who is authorized to do so.  Any further clarification regarding the interpretation of the LABOUR ACT 2003, Codes of Practice, Instructions, Directions, permissions, Exemptions, etc. will be supplied to you on request.
• Be responsible for the proper discipline of all persons under your charge.
• Provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of employees within your area of responsibility.
• Identify relevant hazards and assess the related risks within your area of responsibility, to which persons who are not employees may be exposed, and ensure that persons who are directly affected by activities within your area of responsibility are not exposed to any hazards to their health and safety.
• Consider an employee’s training and capabilities in respect of health and safety before assigning tasks to that employee.
• Provide proper and adequate health and safety training.
• Provide employees within your area of responsibility with any information, instruction, training or supervision that is necessary to enable them to perform their work safely and without risk to health.
• Be responsible subject to interpret LABOUR ACT 2003 Part 20 for the safe installation and proper operation, running and maintenance of all machinery.
• Take all reasonable measures to ensure that: all safety appliances, mechanisms and guards are maintained in good condition under the provisions of the regulations relating to machinery are fully complied with; the work of any apparatus or machine, the use of which may constitute a danger to any persons ‘safety or health is stopped.
